Q.9. It is difficult to lift a heavy stone than the lighter one on the earth
surface.
Heavenly stone has more mas than the lighter stone as a result heavy
stone experiences more gravity than the lighter one. Since, gravity is directly
proportional to mass of object keeping mass of heavenly body and radius
constant. It is necessary to apply greater force to overcome high gravity on
heavy stone than the lighter one.
Q.10. The effect of gravitation is seen more distinctly in liquid than in solid ,
why?
The solid particles are tightly packed in comparison to the liquid
particles. As a result, the effect of gravitation can cause more deformation
in liquid substance than in solid.
Q.11. Why does tide develop at the shore of seas and oceans?
The gravitational force between the water in the sea and ocean and the
massive heavenly bodies around the earth like the sun, the moon helps to
develop tide in the seas and oceans.
