Liquid pressure








        The pressure exerted by a liquid per unit area of the surface in its contact is called liquid
             pressure.

        ▪ Formula to calculate liquid pressure is ,

             Liquid pressure(P) = Height of liquid(h)x Density of liquid(d)x Accel. due to gravity (g)
        ▪                     i.e. P = hdg





        ▪ Factors affecting liquid pressure are;

             i. Height of liquid(h)

             ii. Density of liquid (d)

             iii. Acceleration due to gravity (g)




        Properties of liquid pressure;


        •    Liquid applies pressure in all directions.

        •    Liquid pressure increases with depth.

        •    Liquid pressure does not depend upon the shape of the vessel.

        •    Liquid pressure depends on density of liquid.
