Formula based on Pascal’s law

          Pressure on the small piston = Pressure on big piston
          i.e.                        P1    =    P2

                                       F1    =     F2              = F3           =F4

                                       A1           A2                A3            A4

          Q. Why is hydraulic press is called a force multiplier?
          Ans: Hydraulic press is constructed on the basis of Pascal’s Law.

          So, according to Pascal’s law,
          Pressure on the small piston = Pressure on big piston

          i.e.                        P1    =    P2
                               or,     F1    =     F2

                                       A1           A2
                             or, F1 x A2   =   F2 x A1

                               Since,  A2  >   A1
                               Thus, F2    >   F1

          Hence, a hydraulic press is a force multiplier.
