4 Reviving Memories of Childhood Games
You received an email from a friend who wants to know about Malaysian traditional games.
Hi,
I have a request which you may think odd but I really need your help. I need to find
information about our Malaysian traditional games for my paper. I have to present
it in my class next week.
I can get information from the Net but I prefer to get it from people who have or are
still playing the games. I remembered you used to play batu seremban and kunda
kundi. You also preferred congkak. Could you please give me the necessary details?
Thanking you in advance.

Subject : Remembering a Childhood Game
Hi Leena,
Malaysian traditional games? Congkak was and still is my favourite. For your information,
in the past, they dug holes in the ground and played with tamarind seeds. Nowadays, we play
with marbles on a wooden board with two rows of five, seven or nine holes and two holes at both
ends called home. The aim is to collect the tokens for our home. I used to shout and jump about
whenever I won - to irritate my opponent, my grandmother. I would say, nenek I won fair and
square!
Good luck on your paper!
