Hello, I am Sue and I am a flight attendant. Let me tell you what I do on the day that I am on duty. Before
the arrival of the passengers, a flight attendant (1) do safety checks on the aircraft to ensure that there is
nothing suspicious on the aircraft and that it is safe for boarding. She is also given a briefing on the number of
passengers on board after which she (2) check the beverage service . When she is certain that the aircraft is
ready for boarding, an announcement is made.
At boarding time, I (3) greet the passengers and make sure that all bags are safely stored in the
overhead cabin. After that, I (4) close the doors of the cabin compartments . Then, I walk down the aisle and
(5) ensure that passengers fasten their seat belts and (6) prepare the passengers for take-off . Following
that, I (7) make announcements on safety regulations .
After cruising at a certain level, I (8) serve drinks and food to the passengers. After the passengers have
finished their meals, I (9) collect trash and stow away the food trays. My job includes calming passengers
during emergencies. To prepare for landing, I once again do a safety check to ensure that the passengers have
tied their seat belts and the aircraft is ready for landing. At the exit, I (10) wave good bye to the passengers .
My day ends when all the passengers have alighted and the aircraft is cleared of all rubbish.
