Experiment 3: To study the response of the plant towards gravity.

1. Sediakan susunan radas seperti yang ditunjukkan di bawah.

2. Lakukan pemerhatian dan lukiskan keadaan anak benih selepas dua hari. / Observe and draw the
condition of the seedlings after two days.

(a) Apakah kesimpulan yang boleh dibuat tentang gerak balas tumbuhan terhadap cahaya, air dan
graviti? / What conclusion can be made about the response of plants towards light, water and gravity?
Pucuk bertumbuh ke arah cahaya, manakala akar bertumbuh ke arah air dan graviti.
Shoots grow towards the light while roots grow towards the water and the gravity.

(b) (i) Namakan gerak balas yang ditunjukkan dalam Eksperimen 1.
Name the response shown in Experiment 1.
Fototropisme positif / Positive phototropism
(ii) Apakah kepentingan gerak balas tersebut kepada tumbuh-tumbuhan?
What is the importance of the response to the plants?
Mendapat cahaya untuk melakukan fotosintesis
To obtain light to carry out photosynthesis

(c) (i) Namakan gerak balas yang ditunjukkan dalam Eksperimen 2.
Name the response shown in Experiment 2.
Hidrotropisme positif / Positive hydrotropism
(ii) Apakah kepentingan gerak balas tersebut kepada tumbuh-tumbuhan? / What is the importance of
the response to the plants?
Memperoleh air dan garam mineral / To obtain water and mineral salt

(d) Nyatakan inferens yang boleh dibuat tentang pertumbuhan akar anak benih dalam Eksperimen 3.
State the inference that can be made about the growth of the seedlings' root in Experiment 3.
Akar bertumbuh ke bawah ke arah graviti kerana mendapat sumber air yang secukupnya dari
kapas lembap. / The roots grow downwards towards the gravity because they obtain sufficient water from the moist
cotton.
