On their way home, Paul and John (see) a brown
bag on the grass. Paul (want) to pick it up. John
(agree) to do so. They (pick) up the bag
and (open) it. To their surprise, the bag
(contain) a thick stack of one hundred ringgit notes inside.
“What shall we do?” asked John.
Paul replied, “Let’s go to your house and decide.”
When they (reach) John’s house, his father
(be) at home. He (ask) them to
hand the bag over to the police. He then (phone) the
police. Two policemen (come) to collect the bag. They
(praise) the boys’ honesty in handing the bag over to
the police. They (promise) to let them know if anyone
(claim) the money. Next morning, John’s phone
(ring). A lady thanked John and Paul for returning the
money to her.
