The Double Portrait is of myself and

my friend Anishanabe artist Dwayne

Yerxa flogging our artwork. Although

our frienship is firm it is encumbered by

the many cultural inequalities created

by our culture. The painting portrays

both the depth of our friendship and

the accompanying distrust as well as

the societal anger at inheriting a

culture of systematic prejudice.
