SAUDI NATIONAL DAY

This year the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrated
its 88th National Day. Upholding the JPGS tradition,
Saudi National Day was celebrated on Thursday
20th September with much zeal and ardour. The day
started with students arriving in colourful and ethnic
Saudi attire. During the day the students enjoyed
traditional food brought by them from home and took
part in various activities.

The highlight of the celebration was the Saudi National
Day assembly that was held in the auditorium in
the afternoon.The proceedings started with students
of grade 6 singing the Saudi National Anthem. The
National Anthem was followed by a Saudi Heritage
video to give the audience an overview of Saudi
tourist sites. The pupils of JPGS prepared some special
celebration dances, posters and speeches to show their
love for the kingdom.

Last but not the least, was the performance of a
professional folk-dance troupe who presented a stick
dance that is a prominent feature of Hijazi culture.
The Saudi National Day assembly is a special feature
of LCS curriculum to promote Saudi culture to the
diverse JPGS community.
