GRAMMAR SCHOOL SPORTS DAY

The much awaited annual Grammar Sports Day
was held on Thursday 10th January 2019, with great
enthusiasm, excitement and entertaining atmosphere.
The programme began with the Head of PE Mr Lowe
welcoming the guests and emphasised the importance
of sports in a child’s life.

The pupils entered into the spirit of the occasion in a
professional manner marching down to the field with
their House captain leading the way. Once the Field
and track events began, the air was filled with cheering
and encouragement for the young athletes. Pupils
from Year 7 to Year 13 competed in events including
sprints, relays, high jump, shot putt, long jump and
triple jump. Next year we may look at introducing
javelin and a staff tug of war. To close the sports day
parents and staff were invited to take part in a family
fun race in which I believe Mr Leo and Mr Hakim were
victorious. The winners of the 2019 Grammar sports
day were NEWTON.
