To accompany our in class work we have also en-
joyed Maths week in November when the children
were invited to try a number of outdoor maths activ-
ities that focussed on things they may have missed
whilst online. The children also had the opportunity
to compete to build the tallest straw tower. And in
March children decorated themselves mathematical-
ly for World Maths Day, yet another chance to cele-
brate all things mathematical. In March, we celebrated a fan-
tastic Book Week with the
theme, ‘Picture This!’ where we
explored a range of different
picture books and explored the
magic of stories with no words.
This provided great opportu-
nities for discussion together,
developing skills in oracy and
inference, learning to read be-
tween the lines and find hidden
meaning.
