      WE SERVED 33.30 MILLION
      PAX IN 2018-19
      T     he passenger traffic at our Airport continues to grow at an
            incredible pace. At the end of the Financial Year 2018-19,
            a record 33.30 million passengers transited through BLR
      Airport, further enhancing our reputation as one of the fastest
      growing airports in the world. The new milestone in passenger
      numbers, meant  a growth of 23.8% growth over the previous
      year’s 26.91 million. During the 12-month period, domestic traffic
      continued to be the main driver of growth, accounting for 28.82
      million passengers, an upswing of 24.8% over last fiscal’s 23.09
      million. A total of 4.48  million passengers travelled to
      international destinations – a growth of 17.5% over  the
      corresponding year’s 3.81 million.                      The year also saw a sharp increase of 11% in cargo throughput,
      Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) increased by 21.8% with a total of   handling 386,780 MT as against 348,403 in 2017-18. International
      240,251  landings and take-offs,  compared  with 197,330   cargo processed during this period was 242,650  MT,  while the
      movements last year. The average ATMs per day was 658 with 750   domestic was 144,130 MT. The OTP for the year, a key
      being the highest in a single day, on January 11, 2019. The record   performance indicator, was at a modest 81%.

      A NEW GATE FOR PASSENGERS                                AIRPORT

      WITH HAND BAGGAGE                                       The User Development Fee (UDF) has been revised based on an
                                                              Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) amendment issued
                                                              on  April  4,  2019  to its  earlier Order No.18/2018-19  -  following
                                                              Telecom  Disputes Settlement  and Appellate Tribunal’s (TDSAT)
                                                              interim relief order on March 14, 2019. This order allows BIAL to
                                                              collect revised charges for a limited period of four months.
                                                              The order, effective from April 16, 2019, the tariffs for domestic
                                                              departures  is  revised  to  Rs.306  from  Rs.139,  and  international
                                                              departures to Rs.1,226  from Rs.558.  The revised charges are
                                                              applicable for tickets procured between April 16, 2019 and August
                                                              15, 2019 and UDF at BLR Airport will roll back to the earlier rates
                                                              after this date. The additional funds collected will only be used to
                                                              meet  capital expenditure of the expansion projects and will
                                                              provide BIAL with required cash flows for implementation of
                                                              these projects.
