Curriculum: PE
Physical Education is extremely important to our children and has a high profile in the Curric-
ulum. Each week we devote 2 hours of time to PE and enhance provision with the use of ex-
ternal professional coaches from “Total Dance”.
Throughout the year all classes will be given opportunities to develop
and practise skills in
Gymnastics
Dance
Games (Including competitive sports).
Outdoor Pursuits
Your child will have PE on Monday and Tuesday.
And need to ensure that PE kit is in school as this is part of school
uniform. If your child is unable to participate in any Physical Educa-
tion activities you must inform school or alternatively send in a letter
with the reason why they are unable to do so.
Computing
At Bolton Parish Church School we teach computing following the guidance of
Bolton Schools ICT team. We teach four main strands of computing:
Digital Citizenship, which looks at the safe and responsible use of technology
and the internet;
Digital Literacy, which covers the purposeful use of technology to create, or-
ganise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content;
Computer Science, which involves the children learning to code to design,
write and debug programs to accomplish specific goals;
Information Technology, where we look at uses of technology beyond
school, including the internet.
Through weekly computing lessons, children will develop their computing skills
through practical lessons, and work on projects to practice and further develop
the skills they have learned.
