Amateur has tested the legends of the
game and served as a proving ground for
the future stars of golf. Twenty-three Ryan Moore
past Western Amateur champions — (2004) Justin Leonard

major championships.
Since the Western Amateur adopted
the format featuring 16 match play
qualifiers in 1956, 32 players advancing
to the Sweet Sixteen have won 80
