Future Sites of the Western Amateur

The Western Amateur is renowned for
being one of the toughest tests in
amateur golf, and true to form, it is
contested at some of the nation’s
most challenging venues.
After this year’s championship at
Glen View Club, the Western Amateur
is set to return to a pair of classic
Chicago-area clubs that have hosted
the prestigious event in the past decade.

2022 Championship:
Exmoor Country Club
With a history dating back to 1896,
Exmoor Country Club is one of the
most storied clubs in the greater
Chicago area. Since 1903, the club has
hosted 18 national championships. 2023 Western Amateur Championship host, North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois
In 1914, famed architect Donald Ross terrain. The club has hosted three 2023 Championship:
redesigned the original H.J. Tweedie Western Amateurs, starting with 1904
design, allowing for his trademark championship won by H. Chandler North Shore Country Club

collegiate tournament.

Over the years, the club has made a
point of preserving the spirit and
aesthetic of the original design while
adapting the course to improvements
in today’s club and golf ball technology.
Ethan Tracy’s victory in 2011
came against a field that included
Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth and
Justin Thomas.
