An important historical sefer recounting the Gezeiros Tach ‫ עם תיאור‬,‫ספר היסטורי חשוב ביותר לקורות גזירות ת"ח – ת"ט‬ 70
V'Tat, describing the holy Kabbalist Rabbi Yechiel Michel ‫גדולתו והריגתו של הגה"ק המקובל האלוקי רבי יחיאל מיכל מנעמרוב‬
of Nemirov and his murder. Lublin 1680. ‫ רמזים על תחיית המתים וחבלי המשיח‬.‫– שהיה מגדולי אותו הדור‬
There are hints in the sefer alluding to techias hameisim ‫שהיו אמורים להיות בשנים אלו שנהפכו לגזרות הקשות והנוראיות‬
(revival of the dead) and chevlei Mashiach that were destined
to occur during these years but which morphed instead .‫של ת"ח ות"ט‬
into the terrible Chmelnitzki Massacres of 1648 – 1649,
known as the Gezeiros Tach V'Tat. ‫ על דרשות‬,‫ הודפס בלובלין שנת ת"מ‬,‫חיבורו זה של רבי יחיאל מיכל‬
Rabbi Yechiel Michel's treatise commentating on “al tikri" ‫אל תקרי שבש"ס יצא לאור על ידי בן אחיו רבי יצחק מוכיח אב"ד‬
in the Talmud was brought to print by his nephew Rabbi ‫ בהקדמת הספר הוא כותב בשם דודו המחבר שאמר‬.‫טרעבוולא‬
Yitzchak. In his introduction, he quotes his uncle who ‫בשנת ת"ז שבשנת ת"ח יתחילו חבלי משיח ונתן סימן לדבר שמו‬
remarked in 1647 that the year 1648
(“Tach") would bring with it chevlei ‫של אותו צורר חמי"ל שהוא ר"ת‬
Mashiach, alluding to Chmiel(nitzki) ‫חבלי משיח יבואו לעולם – וכן‬
which stands for the words Chevlei ‫מספר שדודו רבי יחיאל מיכל‬
Mashiach Yavo'u La'olam (birthpangs ‫הגיע אליו בחלום בעת שנרדם‬
of Mashiach will come to the world). ‫בסעודת פורים ודמעות נשרו על‬
He also writes that Rabbi Yechiel ‫ת"ט‬-‫זקנו ואמר ולו שגזרות ת"ח‬
Michel told him in a dream that ‫באו על שלא הוכיחו את העם‬
the decrees came about because ‫לחזור בתשובה בזמן שהיה ראוי‬
they did not reproach the nation to
repent at the time that was worthy .‫לגאולה‬
of redemption.
On the last page of the sefer there ‫בדף האחרון ‘תפלה להנצל‬
is a prayer to be saved from chevlei ‫מחבלי משיח' בתוכה נזכר‬
Mashiach with the words, “and save us ‫‘ותצילנו מחרב ומשבי‬
from the sword and gusts of Ishmaelite ‫הישמעלים והקדרים' הם חילות‬
and vandals," referring to the ruthless
Cossacks. ..‫הקוזקים ימ"ש‬

Rabbi Yechiel Michel of Nemirov ‫הגה"ק רבי יחיאל מיכל שהיה‬
was a prominent leader of his ‫ גאון מופלא‬,‫מגדולי אותו הדור‬
generation; a Torah genius who ‫בנגלה ובנסתר ובכל חכמה היה‬
was well versed in both the revealed ‫מהראשונים שנהרגו בגזרות‬
and hidden aspects of the Torah. ‫ ת"ט ועמו כששת אלפים‬- ‫ת"ח‬
He was a descendant of Rashi, and .‫טבוחים מהעיר הגדולה נעמרוב‬
many Torah leaders and Admorim ‫הריגתו על קדוש ה' יחד עם כל‬
traced their lineage back to his ‫הקהילה הגדולה ביום כ' סיון שנת‬
family. He was one of the first murdered in the Gezeiros ‫ת"ח התפרסמה לאחת הטרגדיות‬
Tach V'Tat, slaughtered along with six thousand members ‫ פרשת הריגתו נזכרה גם בספר מגילה‬,‫ת"ט‬-‫הגדולות של גזרות ת"ח‬
of Nemirov.
This copy was purchased thirty years ago in the Sotheby's .‫עפה להש"ך‬
