103. Rare Letter from the Holy Rabbi
Moshe Paneth of Deyzh, 1893
A rare letter dated 1893 from Rabbi Moshe Paneth of
Deyzh regarding the marriage of his niece, daughter of
Rabbi Yechezkel Yosef Paneth.
The letter was handwritten entirely by his son Rabbi
Yechezkel Paneth, author of kneset Yechezkel, and
signed by his father Rabbi Moshe.
Rabbi Moshe Paneth (1842 - 1903) was the son and
successor of Rabbi Menachem Mendel, author of Maaglei
Tzeddek, and grandson of Rabbi Yechezkel, author of
Mareh Yechezkel. A holy and pious miracle worker, he
studied by Rabbi Chaim of Sanz and was blessed with
Divine spirit (ruach haKodesh). From the year 1884 he
served as rabbi and Admor of Deyzh and as president of
Kollel Zeibenberg, where thousands accepted his rabbinical
authority.
