1. Conveyors
- Move between specific points, a fixed path.
- Variety depending on the material to be handled
- Chute, belt, pneumatic, screw, bucket and vibrating conveyor
. Normally used to move bulk material (chemical, sawdust)
- Unit material (casting items, machine) are placed on tote boxes, pallets, cartons
and can be moved using chute, belt, , trolley .or taw conveyors)
a) Chute conveyor
Inexpensive, economical, difficult to control, easily to cause jams and
blockages
b) Belt conveyor
i) Flat belt
For light and medium weight loads
ii) Telescoping belt
Used at receiving and shipping docks
iii) Toughed belt
Used for transporting bulk materials.
iv) Roller conveyor
Non powered (using gravity) or powered using
revolving shaft. For accumulating loads an
transporting rigid riding surface materials
vi) Wheel conveyor
more economical than roller conveyor. For light
duty operations
v) Chain conveyor
For transporting tote boxes and pallet
