The fibers in each filter create a large surface area.

In the Filter Bottle the filter surface area is 1,358 m (14,617 sq ft) - that is larger

than three basketball courts!

In the at home filters, the surface area is 8,175 m (88,000 sq ft) – that is larger than

a soccer field!

This large surface area allows each bottle cartridge to filter up to 1,600 L
(423 gal), and each home filtration cartridge to filter up to 11,355 L (3,000 gal)
before replacement. 10

10. Actual capacity will depend on the amount of suspended solids and particles in your local water system. In certain water supplies, tastes or odors may be reduced but not
completely eliminated or the flow may decrease prior to reaching the rated capacity. In the at home filters, the Main Filter media should be replaced more often. For optimum
performance, we recommend replacing the Main Filter media at least every 5 years or when the water flow is too low, even if the red light has not yet come on. In the Filter Bottle the
lifespan of the filter cartridge will reduce and using the filter beyond the 1,600 (423 gal) capacity may reduce the quality of your filtered water.
