These sentences are in Passive Voice.
Passive voice is mostly used when the actor is less important or
we are talking about a general truth.
The other form of voice is Active Voice. It is mostly used when the
actor is more important.
Active voice starts with a subject and uses all forms of verb.
Passive voice starts with an object and uses only V3 with auxiliary
verbs.
5.2. Write ‘A’ for active voice and ‘P’ for passive voice.
a. We lost the game 2-3 to the Smart Boys.
b. Both of our goals were scored in the second half.
c. Moktan, our number 9 player committed a
foul.
d. Smart Boys were given a penalty.
e. The card was dropped by the referee.
f. The audience support the local team.
5.3. Change the following sentences into passive
voice.
a. She bakes a pie.
b. They found a baby in the street.
c. We heat the water in an electric jug.
d. The Aryals sold the oranges in Butwal.
e. They have looked for him since morning.
f. The carpenter has finished the chair.
