PriThvi narayan Shah

We are Nepali, the proud people

of Nepal. Our country is a free

country with a great history.
Many people in the past did a

lot of hard work to protect our

country and pride. Among these

great people, Prithvi Narayan
Shah is one of the greatest.

Prithvi Narayan Shah was born

on 27 Paush 1779 B.S. (11
January 1723 A.D.) as the royal

crown prince of the then Gorkha state. King Narabhupal Shah

and queen Kaushalyavati were his parents. He became the king
of Gorkha in 1799 B.S. at the age of 20. During his time, Nepal

was not a single country. It was divided into many states called

principalities and each had a king. These kings used to battle

on small matters and worried only about themselves.

Prithvi Narayan Shah had a dream of making a big and powerful
kingdom. So after he became the king of Gorkha, he started
