8.2. Let’s play Spelling Contest.
To the teacher:
• Divide the whole class into five groups and get the students to choose the group
captain.
• Make a list of twenty words the students have already heard.
• Use a device to play the words if possible. If not, articulate yourself.
• Conduct it in reduction system. At first give 50 points to each team and reduce one
point for misspelling a word or not attempting it.
• Play a word and get the students to write the spellings and submit within one minute.
Let all the groups attempt the word.
• Invite the principal / vice principal to declare the winner and reward.
• Make more rules if required.
9 Writing Time
9.1. Develop a short story with the hints given and write its title and
moral.
Merchant – has a hen – lays a golden egg everyday – merchant –
greedy – wants to become rich at once – thinks of an idea – wants
to get all eggs at once – one day – the hen lays an egg – merchant
catches it – kills it – cuts it body open with a knife – gets no egg at
all - regrets
9.2. You must have recently heard or read a story or watched a
movie. Write the story you heard or read or the story of the
movie you watched in your own language.

grade six student from India and do the activities given.
