40307 = 4 × 10000 + 0 × 1000 + 3 × 100 + 0 × 10 + 7 × 1

= 4 × 10000 + 3 × 100 + 7 × 1
Again, let's learn to write numbers in the short forms.

7 × 10 + 2 × 1 = 72
3 × 100 + 6 × 1 = 3 × 100 + 0 × 10 + 6 × 1 = 306
4 × 1000 + 2 × 10 + 3 × 1 = 4 × 1000 + 0 × 100 + 2 × 10 + 3 × 1 = 4023

5 × 10000 + 2 × 1000 + 1 × 100 + 8 × 10 + 4 × 1 = 52184
