Use  :  My mom is in the hospital, I’m hopeful that everything
                             will be just fine and I’ve learned to control myself in
                             case of a tragedy. I always hope for the best but prepare

                             for the worst.
               f.    Fortune favors the bold : People who bravely go after what they

                     want are more successful than who try to live safely.
                     Use   :  Don’t depend on luck, be brave to take a risk. Fortune
                             always favors the bold.

               g.   When the going gets tough, the tough gets going : Strong people
                     don’t give up when they face challenges, they work harder.

                     I  won’t  give  up  my  project  in  the  middle.  I  know  it  will  be
                     tougher as it gets along but I’ll labour harder. I know when the
                     going gets tough, the tough gets going and I’m a tough man.

               h.    The squeaky wheel gets the grease : You can get better service if
                     you complain about something. If you wait patiently, no one’s
                     going to help you.

                      Use : The waiter attended the people in the next table for a
                             dozen times because they were complaining but ignored
                             me because I was quite. Just got to realize the squeaky

                             wheel gets the grease.
               i.    When in Rome do as the Romans : Act the way the people around

                     you are acting.
                     Use : Katherine, our volunteer teacher from England accepted
                             the Tika in Dashain despite being a catholic. When

                             asked, she smiled and said, “When in Rome, do as the
                             Romans.”

               j.    Beggars  can’t  be  choosers :  If  you  are  asking  for  favor  from
                     someone else, you have to accept what they give you.
                     Use  :  I’ll definitely accept what you give me, I know beggars

                             can’t be choosers.
