intelligent heart and mind and spirit-filled consciousness of loving-
kindness, equanimity, forgiveness, and compassion for self and other.
The Caritas Nurse is open to learning lessons from the left knowledge
quadrant and the full chakra system as other ways of knowing and
evolving, thus opening to honoring one’s full self-evolution as well as
the fullness of the other, drawing upon an entire knowledge system
and a life path for personal/professional evolution. Thus, the Caritas
Processes within the Philosophy and Science of Caring guide the nurse
and the evolved profession and discipline of nursing along the ethical
and moral journey and heritage of Caritas practices by learning to live
the formal theoretical Caritas Processes in one’s work and world.
This line of thinking allows the Caritas Nurse to cultivate the aware-
ness that any physical condition has a metaphysical-energetic mirror at
the nonphysical level. Any outer-world, right-quadrant phenomenon has
a left-quadrant meaning informing it. Therefore, living, dying, caring-
healing health phenomena are multilayered and complex; they are
ultimately incapable of being fully known; they are ineffable, remind-
ing us that ultimately we dwell within the mystery of Infinity.
