Atopy and Asthma
• Atopy refers to a genetic tendency to develop eczema (atopic
dermatitis), allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and asthma.
• Atopy causes a heightened sensitivity to common allergens,
especially those that are in food and in the air.
