3. Patient position

• position the patient in a

Fowlers position and provide a

cardiac table in front of the
patient so that the patient can

rest and bend the body on the

cardiac table

• Loosens the thoracic space and

reduces pressure on the

diaphragm from the abdominal

muscles. This facilitates the

patient's breathing.
