METERED-DOSE INHALER (MDI)

+ MDI with ‘Spacer’ or ‘Holding Chamber’

+ MDI is usually used in conjunction with a ‘spacer’ or

‘holding chamber’ to get the best treatment for patients

with low hand-lung coordination such as the elderly and

children.

+ The use of a ‘spacer’ allows the propellant to evaporate

before the drug is inhaled.
