RELEVANT ANATOMY

The ligaments related to the etiology of clubfoot:

i. Deltoid ligament : the medial collateral ligament

of the ankle. It has a superficial and a deep

component.

ii. Spring ligament(calcaneonavicular) : which is

joins the anterior end of the calcaneum to the

navicular.

iii. Plantar ligaments : extending from the plantar

surface of the calcaneum to the foot,giving rise to

the longitudinal arch of the foot.
