                1. Acute bronchitis








                • The inflammation causes swelling of the lining of these breathing

                   tubes, narrowing the tubes and promoting secretion of inflammatory


                   fluid.



                • Most commonly, acute bronchitis is due to a viral infection.



                • Acute bronchitis may also be called a chest cold.
