HEALTH FACILITY PLANNING
The Health Facility Planning Section continues to provide input for health facility development within
the Ministry of Health. In the year 2017, the Ministry of Health was allocated RM1.3 billion for the
development of 353 projects (based on cash flow requirement); of which 11 are new projects and 342
are committed/ongoing projects.
One of the highlights for the year 2017 is the development of the National Centre for Food Safety (NCFS).
The NCFS is a one-off facility developed to provide comprehensive food quality and safety services.
This will also enable Malaysian food products to be tested, approved, and recognized in accordance
to international standards. In addition, the centre will be the home to ASEAN Risk Assessment Centre
(ARAC), which is the sole body to regulate and integrate risk assessment activities in ASEAN region.
