Pathogenesis






                • Excessive capsular laxity & a shallow acetabulum at birth are


                   the primary initiating factors.








                • Femoral head: - is pulled proximally & laterally by hip


                   abductors;  misshapen & flattened; delayed ossification of

                   capital epiphysis;









                • Hip joint fills with fibrofatty debris ( pulvinar)
