Introduction

“Malee Malai: Lessons on Thai Floral Art for Youth” is published in praise of
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother on the auspicious occasion of the
87th anniversary of Her Majesty’s birthday on August 12, 2019.
On a related note, the management of The Museum of Floral Culture has
initiated this book project to conserve, promote and disseminate Thai floral art as
a national cultural heritage. This book consists of 12 foundation lessons of Thai
floral art with detailed instructions.
“Malee Malai: Lessons on Thai Floral Art for Youth” is published in a total
of 30,000 copies, to be complimentary distributed to as many schools nationwide.
All the lessons are also produced in VDO format to be publicized in digital media
for a wider audience.
The management of The Museum of Floral Culture would like to give our
heartfelt gratitude to all of our esteemed supporters for their continuous support.
And we hope that “Malee Malai: Lessons on Thai Floral Art for Youth” will
serve its purpose as a tool to conserve, promote and disseminate Thai floral art;
to inspire our youngsters to continue to preserve our national heritage; to support
the evolution of Thai floral art and make it known globally as one of the valuable
cultural heritages of the world.
