What are families most focused on during the various
stages of the life journey of their children who have
disabilities and special health care needs? For many
families this process starts when their children are in
the 0-3 age range but continues as they move through
the K-12 education system and beyond. Attendees will
learn about how parents navigate diagnosis, engage
service providers, get educational supports like IEPs and
other school districts supports in place and support
their children into adulthood. There will be a particular
focus on understanding what this journey looks like at
the pre-school level, K-5 level, middle school/high
school level and the transitional age youth (ages 16-22)
level.
