SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, AND
    LITERACY: SIE BOOKS IN YOUR
    CLASSROOM

    WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2021
    2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

    Strand(s): Early Childhood Education, Transitional
    Kindergarten, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math) & CTE (Career and Technical Education)

    Hosted by: Science is Elementary
    Presenter(s): Tzipor Ulman, CEO
    Coordinator: Tzipor Ulman
    E-mail: tzipor@scienceiselementary.org

Join Science is Elementary (SiE) for an engaging hands-
on workshop. We will use SiE Books to demonstrate
how science, engineering, and literacy can be
integrated in an early childhood classroom. We will
start with a social story to introduce a phenomenon,
and continue with experiential engineering activities.
We’ll also discuss how to build academic language
while doing engineering and how to help young children
    think scientifically.

When you register, a list of inexpensive materials you
can bring with you to the workshop will create a
"hands-on" activity (less than $5 per participant).
Please have them with you to ensure that we can all
    explore together!

    Learning Outcomes:
    Attendees will be able to:
Introduce a scientific phenomenon using a social
        story
Extend experiments presented by adding activities
        with suggested materials
Use at least two scientific practices in their
        classrooms
