Electro- Magnetic Waves

    It is produced when electric and magnetic field vibrate at right angle to each other. The direction
    of propagation of the wave is perpendicular to both fields .

  Properties Of Electro-magnetic Waves



  •     They transfer energy from one point to another.
  •     They are transverse waves.

  •     They can travel through vacuum.
  •     They travel at the same speed through vacuum (speed of light , c = 3 x 10 ms )

  •     They all show wave properties such as reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference.
  •     They obey the wave equation, v = fλ.
