3.1.4 Strategic Trade Act in export and import control

• The Strategic Trade Act (STA) 2010, was implemented

on 01 July 2011

• The STA provides for control over the export,

transhipment, transit and brokering of strategic items,

including arms and related material and other activities

that will of may facilitate the design, development and

production of WMD (weapons of mass destruction) and

their delivery systems.

• The STA need an application for a permit or a special

permit for export, tranship or transit of the strategic

items
