3.1.5 Dangerous goods in export and import control

• Dangerous goods (DG) are solids, liquid or gases that

can harm people, other living organisms, property or

the environment.

• They are often subject to chemical regulations.

Sometimes DG are more commonly referred to as

hazardous materials (HAZMAT)

• DG include materials that are radioactive, flammable,

explosive, corrosive, oxidizing, asphyxiating, bio-

hazardous, toxic, pathogenic or allergenic.
