2.1 Commercial document

What is Commercial document?

Commercial set of documents are mainly used for Commerce.

In other words these are documents normally exchanged

between buyer and seller.

Purpose of documents:

• To effect physical transfer of goods and title of the goods

from exporter to the buyer

• To realize export sales proceeds

• Possession of docs imply ownership of goods

• Documents represent goods shipped by exporter

• Indicates goods at destination, and

• Used to compensation by insurance, in the event of damage

or loss
