2.3 Transport Documents
What is Transport documents?
A transport document is a kind of document used to convey
information about cargo that is being transported.
These documents are issued by shipping line, airline,
international trucking company, rail road, freight forwarders
and logistic companies.
Purpose of the documents:
They are contracts for the carriage of the goods. –They serve
as receipt of the goods at the state destination. –They have
a similar structure in terms of number of boxes, content
as an evidence of acceptance and receipt of goods for
carriage may also serve as a document of ownership (title).
