Describe a picture and find differences
Find out what you’ve got in common
PREPARATION
1 Look at the picture and make a list of words you can
use to describe it. Compare with a partner. Who has
/ the most useful words?
2 With a partner, take it in turns to make
sentences about the picture. Talk about these things.

3 Listen to the two people talking about the
picture. What extra information do they add?
Write sentences and questions. Use the correct form of DO THE CHALLENGE
4 Work in pairs. You have very similar pictures,
which contain a number of differences. Follow the
instructions.
Student A:
● Your picture is on page 150.
● Describe your picture to Student B.
● Stop when Student B says stop. Listen to the
difference in his / her picture.
● Now, look at your picture and listen to Student B’s
description.
● When you hear something that is different in your
picture, say stop.
● Continue like this until you have all the differences.
Student B:
● Your picture is on page 152. Express yourself
