Did you know that trash is a big
problem around the world? The average
human produces 4 ½ pounds of trash
every day. The whole United States makes
220 million tons of trash in one day.
Trash is such a big problem it is
causing global warming and some people
throw away things that could be recycled.
The average Vermonter throws away 61
percent of what could be recycled or
composted.
