Covalent Bond: The chemical bond formed by the sharing

of electrons between non-metals is called covalent bond.

• Covalent bond is formed between non-metals.

• There is sharing of electrons between non-metals.

• when two atoms of the same element form a covalent bond the

shared electrons actually shared equally between the atoms

• When atoms of different elements share electrons through covalent

bonding, the electron will be drawn more toward the more active non-

metal resulting in a polar covalent bond.
