Molecular Formula: It is the formula that

represents one molecule of a substance.

• Method of writing molecular formula:

• Write the electropositive radical on left hand side

• Write the electroNEGATIVSE radical on right hand side

• Write the respective valency beneath the radical

• Exchange the valency

• Write the valency in terms of lowest possible number

• Then obtain the molecular formula

• If any radical has valency 1 do not specify it in molecular formula
