                4. Date of Commencement: 01/04/2021
                5.Expected Date of Completion: 31/03/2024
                6. Project Summary(Max. 200 words):
                The proposed program is a two-week training program on Mathematics and/or Statistics to be
                imparted to 30 students from the North-Eastern (N-E) states. The participants would be
                nominated by some Colleges/Universities/Institutions in the N-E region. The colleges would
                be chosen based on their NAAC rankings. Winter school in Mathematics has been regularly
                organized at the N-E Centre since 2016-17 and has been very well received by the participants
                and Institutions in the region. The project is proposed to be continued in 2021-22 and 2022-
                23 as well, since without such schools/training programmes continuing for at least a few years,
                the real impact is unlikely to be some real worth.
                7. Introduction with Background(Max. 300 words):
                NA

                8. Description of the problem(Max. 300 words):
                NA
                9. Objectives:
                This project aims at conducting training programs on Mathematics and/or Statistics for
                students from North-Eastern states so as to equip them with better training at their respective
                levels so that application of statistical and mathematical tools in higher education and also
                decision-making at government level increases significantly. The program aims to inculcate
                research interests in new/advanced topics of Mathematics/Statistics among students of the
                region so as to motivate them to pursue higher studies and take up research as a career option.
                10. Study Area:
                NA
                11. Review and status of research and development in the subject(Max. 500 words):
                11.1 International Status:
                NA
                11.2 National Status:
