In this respect, our recent interest is to study various exotic and nontrivial features of these
topological phases of matter that may lead to some exciting results.

               Anyon (Condensed Matter)

Explicit solutions of anyon equation (Jackiw-Nair model) has been obtained and used to
construct anyon beam. This work will be extended to non-abelian anyon model.

               Interdisciplinary

               Physics of complex systems:

In the study of complex systems, physicists are expanding the boundaries of their disciplines.
Using tools of statistical physics, researchers are bringing in knowledge and techniques from
various other disciplines, e.g., statistics, applied mathematics, information theory, computer
science as well as economics to have a better understanding of the precise nature and the
underlying dynamics of socio-economic conditions that are prevalent in our society.

Cities are examples of complex systems and the functioning of this complex system depends
upon social, economic, and environmental factors. Recently, our proposal of a universal two-
parameter Rank-Ordering (RO) distribution, with its associated entropy (uncertainty in the
distribution) analysis, for the urban agglomerations of various countries in the world has been
validated by an exhaustive study using the huge census data. This RO distribution, namely the
discrete generalized beta distribution, is very much useful in modelling many socio-economic
factors providing excellent fits when validated with real world empirical data. The generating
process which describes this RO distribution as a maximum entropy distribution under an
appropriate bivariate utility constraint has also been provided.
