In this respect, it is important to study the correlations of various socio-economic variables
with the population distribution of the smaller second/third level units of a country. In
particular, we are interested to study the distribution and associated uncertainty or inequalities
of different socio-economic indicators within and between these strata.

• Title of the Project: “Theoretical aspects of electron transport in interfacial quantum
systems: Open problems and challenges”
• Brief objective and justification (2 or 3 sentences):
The entire project includes several aspects of transport phenomena in interfacial quantum
systems that can be classified into five different topics. Since our aim is to study the generic
phenomena we use tight-binding (TB) framework, which is extremely suitable for analyzing
electron transport. More generally, our aim is to use the simplest level of description that
contains the essential physics that we will try to describe. The successful conclusion of different
subjects that will be studied in this project may enhance the basic understanding of the overall
interfacial electron transmission processes.
