Physics and Earth Sciences Division (PESD)

There are three units under the Physics and Earth Sciences Division, i.e., Physics and Applied
Mathematics Unit, Kolkata, Geological Studies Unit, Kolkata and the Theoretical and Applied
Science Unit, Tezpur. The units share the three common goals, which can be broadly classified
into three categories: A) Peruse scientific researches of advanced topics and on the issues
specific for national importance, B) Actively participating in higher education and man power
development, and c) to foster dissemination of scientific knowledge to the mass. Details may
be found in sections dedicated to individual Units.
