                This  project  is  for  co-ordination  of  various  academic  and  administrative  activities  of  the
                constituent units, namely Physics and Applied Mathematics Unit (PAMU), Geological Studies
                Unit (GSU), and Theoretical and Applied Sciences Unit, as well as for administrative works
                related to the Division as a whole.
                7. Introduction with Background (Max. 300 words):

                Professor-in-charge,  PESD  is  responsible  for  overall  coordination  of  academic  and
                administrative activities of the division including organization and presentation of the Plan
                Research  programmes  and  budget  proposals,  organizing  yearly  TAC-DCSW  meeting,
                presentation of reports for audit and consideration of other statutory bodies, providing support
                for the execution of approved projects, liaison with the Director’s office and other external
                funding agencies, oversee academic visits by scientists from other institutions in India and
                abroad. Day-to-day maintenance of a small office with one supporting staff is essential for
                running the activities of the division as a whole.
