• Shri Vinoba Bhave called Kannada script
as ‘’Vishwa lipigala Rani’’ (Queen of
the scripts of world). The internati onal
language, English does not have its own
script and Hindi is writt en in ‘‘Devanagari’’.
• When ‘’Kari Raju Marga’’ was writt en by
‘’Amogha Varsha Nripathunga,’’ English
and Hindi was not born at all.

We should be proud to be an
Indian. Prime Minister Narendra Modi
pitched the idea of celebrati ng the
Internati onal yoga Day at the United
Nati ons General assembly (UNGA) in
sepember 2014. The fi rst Internati onal yoga
Day (IYD) was celebrated across the world on 21
June 2015. Thousands of parti cipants of all ages
parti cipated in various citi es across the world
including New York, London, Tokyo and Sydney.
Why 21st June?? 21st June was selected
because it represents one of the two solsti ces and
it is the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere
which has special signifi cance in many
parts of the world. In our school also the
cadets performed yoga asanas.

• Kannada is the only indian language for
which foreigner (kitt al) wrote dicti onary
(shabda kosha).
• Ragale saahitya can be seen only in
kannada which is a rare and diff erent
kind of literature. Kuvempu received the
highest number of literature awards .
• So, let us have pride in using kannada. Be
proud of being a Kannadiga.
